We prefer a soft leather brand, that supports in the most important places in the foot, and levels out how your foot plants on the ground to minimize stress and wear on other joints. Orthotics can help with discomfort in the knees and hips relating to walking improperly. A tremendous benefit of custom orthotics is that they can be worn on a daily basis and utilized during most activities.
Custom orthotics can be easily made in our office, and last well over a year in most cases. Being myself, what I have coined "a foot person", someone whose feet are driving the train in their skeleton, because they have structural issues, I am well aware of the problems that can occur from high arches, and repeated ankle sprains that are not properly supported. I am a stickler for making sure feet are properly lined up, strengthened, supported, and wearing the right shoe.
